I watched online last night and cried. It was such a celebration of a wonderful man but it only seemed to drive home the notion that there will never be anyone else like him to makes us laugh, and help the animals. It was such a bittersweet ceromony, I hope this loss stays in the hearts of all those who care. It will take every single one of us to keep going, and to raise as much attention as steve alone did. After watching it, I immeadily donated to the Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors, I plan to make a commitment to do as much as I can every year for both organization in order to honor and keep Steve's idea going.
People who didn't ever watch Steve were touched, my dad and boyfriend both stared intently, laughed, and even wped tears away watching the memorial. After, my dad said, what a loss, I have never seen such an honest, real person gain this much fame and respect.
I think Bob Srn said it best, "Grieve for the animals because they've lost their best friend and mine."

Well, I am in Australia. I watched it live yesterday morning. We have had it on about 4 times since. We have 5 free to air TV stations here and 3 of them showed the memorial service. Like you I could not help but cry. But Steve Irwin was a legend in my books. I could never get enough of him. What you see is what you always got with Steve. On and off the cameras. R.I.P Steve my friend.

Yeah I watched it with my family, and as we live on The Sunshine Coast , where the Iriwn Family lives,it was truly moving Bindi is an inspiration, she is a very brave little girl who wants her fathers legacy to live on.Todays local Sunshine Coast paper sums it up,"Steve Irwin often said he was the proudest dad on the planet. Yesterday, the world discovered why. His brave eight-year-old daughter Bindi fronted 300 million TV viewers to tell them how much she loved, and would miss, her father. R.I.P STEVE your little girl will do you proud.

Great uplifting speech the 8 year old daughter gave! She was honoring her fathers life and not mourning her loss. Bravo! We should all be more like her!

I did. I made it through pretty well until they drove his truck away. And then I lost it.
