I believe in the state of SC, there are exemptions to the 1 year seperation. If you can prove abuse (mental, emotional and/or physical),adultry or acohol or drug abuse, there is a possibility that you can have your divorce sped up with the right lawyer. .. Good Luck to you. I am not 100% sure about this, but I think I am right.

Why do you need it so quickly? Well if you both agree to everything you can go to the court house library or just the library and print off all the papers your self and draw up the final documents too. But then you will have to wait about a month or two for it to clear through the judge but 1 - 2 months is far better than a year.

If attorney costs is what's stopping you, you can prepare your own court order. Are you two on good terms? If you can agree on custody & support of children, if you have any, and how you divide up your personal property, and all debts. Which is a lot I know. Most major chain bookstores (Borders) carry do-it-yourself divorce books, along with blank forms, for your state. My ex-husband and I agreed on splitting everything because we did not want to have what little money we had be sucked up by attorney's fees. We were able to get our divorce within six months (MI law if there are minor children) for only the $230 filing fee.

I hope this helps you.

The only way I know how is to move to another state and file for divorce. Why do you want one so quick? You really need to make sure this is what you want.

Actually, if there isn't children involved, you can go to the court house and pick up all the forms you need. You don't need a lawyer, you can divorce him on your own. It is quicker!
