Going on a first date to the movies, should I put my arm around her? Girls, would you want a guy to do this? What would you do if he did? Second, if I put my arm around her and she likes it, should I then kiss her? Or should I wait until after the date?

We've been talking as friends for like 2 1/2 weeks. And before the movies, we are meeting at Borders to talk and probably going to dinner---and then the movies last.

I don't see any reason why you can't put your arm around her. Or hold hands with her. As for a kiss ... see how the date goes. You'll know whether or not it's a good idea. Still not sure? Ask her.

You need to slow down and be a gentleman on the first date. You may not even get a kiss on the first date.

If you don't know her that well and this is just a "getting to know you" date than no. It would make me very uncomfortable, but if you know this girl pretty well and you all have been friends for a while but want to take it a step further than yeah go for it. Just try to make sure she feels the same about you.

Not at the beginning of the dtae, but if you feel it is all right and she's happy, put your arm, and maybe at the very end kiss her.
