Thank you I was racking my brain, I use to stand outside and listen to Cab Calloway in Chicago, I was a kid, thought he was the best , of course I was standing outside, what a voice, what a handsome man, and minnie the moocher....

as far as who writer it I am not sure, as this was recorded back in the days when songwriters typically did not perform thier own music. the performer was cab calloway.
