how might the structure and arrangement of cells in the onion skin help to do this?? answer plz and make it easy grade 7 here!!

The onion cells have a rigid cell wall.

The low permeability to water of the onion skin will help protect the onion from drying out or becoming water logged during brief periods of wetness or dryness of the soil. The water balance of the onion can then be better controlled by the structures in the roots and leaves that regulate water balance in the plant.
