I can tell she is not schooled in a public school.

I think it shows that her parents taught her so much about life (and death) by living among animals that her worldview may be alot different than most kids and she is better able to cope with her grief.

To me, it is a testimony to the importance of learning more about and respecting our environment and animals. The more we know about our environment and animals, the more we learn about our own self, both physically and spiritually.

When I say these things, I am a hypocrite. I am not one of those tree hugging, hybrid driving, animal loving people. I usually cannot stand them. But I do greatly respect Steve Irwin and his family because they most definitely walked the walk rather than just talk the talk.

i think the speech was amazing...you can really tell that Bindy was taught a lot by her parents, she has probally learned more in her life about wildlife then most people learn in a lifetime. Its great that she has that oppertunity to learn && grow. I can only hope that steves death isnt terribly tramatic, i hope she has a close to normal childhood without the media hounding her and the rest of her family. God Bless the Irwin family!!

Very sad and sweet. Her Dad is smiling down on her from heaven, for sure. She obviously has a lot of his personality and will carry on with his work in her life. It just wrenches my heart every single time I think about his death and how difficult this is for Terri and Bindi and Bob and their friends and family. Children are deeply affected by this loss, he was a true hero, in their eyes, and a phenomenal person and the animal kingdom was made more understandable to us all because of Steve.

Very, very difficult because, as you say, she's just a little girl. My first thought was that her speech seemed a little contrived, as though she had been given it to read. But it's so very important to understand that this little girl has suffered a terrible loss (beyond most of our understanding) and that she has a whole lifetime ahead of her to grieve. Please, please don't anybody make a single derogatory remark here - it would be unforgiveable.
