Pre-season is to evaluate the backups. Teams don't want to risk injuring their star players in meaningless games. Brodeur will probably get some ice team near the end of the pre-season to get him into game condition.

its pre-season rookies get to try out also, its time to tune your game and he was probably in the gym working out. doing some off ice training. don't worry about Brodeur he will be there.

It';s preseason, he's already made the team, preseason is like tryouts where new guys try to stay in the majors and coaches find back ups how many games are there? you want him to play all of them and be of no use when it really counts, in the playoffs.

It doesn't matter if they win or lose this his pre-season, the time of the year to test young players and for them to make the team if they good enough.

Relax it's still preseason so more than likely he'll be there for the regular season. Much to my chagrin, I am a Flyers fan

Relax, it's just pre-season. They probably want to see how their other goalies do in real game situations.
