what you do, is get the percentage you have, and divide it by 100,
so 25% is 0.25,
100% is 1,
etc etc

because 10% is the same thing as 10 over 100, you just divide ten by 100
which gives you
.1

"per cent" means "per hundred"
10% means "ten per hundred"
When you see the word "per" in a math problem, think "divided by."
So 10% is 10 divided by 100. You can calculate that, right?
In general, to get rid of the % sign, just divide the value (10 in this case) by 100.

Other translations for math:
"and" means plus
"of" means times

10% really means 10/100
If we simplify this you will get 1/10...turn this into decimal and you will get 0.10

Your answer is 0.10

(Easier trick...take the 10 and move 2 decimal places back..giving you 0.10 in real number)
