I need to find a way to keep the group quiet and not bored. My idea was allong the lines of the game 7 up. I am looking for any other suggestions, that dont require much materials.

As a kid i loved to play bingo with my teacher. We made little bingo cards with the teacher. If we won then we got a prize like candy, toys, free homework pass. or something like that . I always had fun doing that. Also you could play "whisper down the alley". You play that game by getting the kids in a straight line or in a circle or something and whisper to the first kid a phrase or something and then have them say it to the next kid around the circle or down the line. And at the end of the circle or line have that kid tell you what he thinks the original phrase or saying was, and compare that to the original phrase or saying and then see if the phrase got around the circle or at the end of the line correctly. And you can play that game over and over again and have the students get it right. This also teaches a lesson... How the wrong rumors are spread! I loved both of those games and could have played them for hours!!! I hope you have fun with your students! It sounds like fun and you sound like a fun teacher!!! Tell the students that i came up with these games. I hope you like these games!!!!!!!

If you are able to go outdoors or in the gym, duck-duck goose is always fun. A few years ago in school we played basketball using one of the garbages and some little ball. You can bring a few board games to school. Show a movie that is actually interesting to them. Have them play a game with each other where they each have to contribute, like "would you rather." If you need to do something and would rather not play, you can pick different students to lead it.

4 corners. give each corner a nubmer. the "it" person puts their head down. everyone else goes into a corner. the "it" person says a number and everyone in that corner is out. keeping doing this until 4 people are left. then each person goes to corner and stays there. the it persons says a number until there is only one person left. so like 2 4 1 and the person in corner 3 is now the new it person. they need to be really quiet when moving around so that the it person doesn't know which corner they are in.
guess who is also good. one person is it and puts their head. the teacher picks one student to go in the middle of the room and say guess who and the it person has three tries to guess who said it.

I have a document of different games and activities you can use not only to play with kids but that can also be adapted to any topic you are teaching. The document is too big, over 150 pages, so it's impossible for me to post it here; but if you send me your e-mail address I will gladly send it to you.

silent ball.

Give a students a ball so they can throw around. If anyone laughs, talks etc..they are out. They have to sit down until there is a winner.
If the person overthrows another person,he/she is out.
Have the students spread out whether in class or outside.
