I was in a hill-tribe village in North Thailand when I heard, and immediately a flash went through my mind saying 'they did it themselves.
Detailed research since then has convinced me that it was in fact an inside job.
That makes me angry - that the US government should murder three thousand of its own citizens just for an excuse to take control of Arabian oil, and make a few rich people even richer.
The problem is that, as they are confident that they got away with it, they are likely to do it again as an excuse to attack Iran.

When the first plane hit the first tower, I was at work with some guys on a job site. I remember it was a perfectly clear and sunny day. The reports were coming over the radio about what was then considered an unexplained event. When the second plane hit, pretty much everyone knew it was an attack. I remember being in awe. I remember feeling somewhat disoriented in the seriousness of what I was hearing.
In all honesty, it was kind of like listening to my Fathers recount of the original radio version of War of the Worlds.

When I turned on my television and saw what was happening I thought it was a new science fiction movie, but reality hit me fast and hard. All I could do was cry. I felt sad, hurt, angry and confused. That is a time we must never forget not only because of the pain but also because it brought people together, it made us realize that we all need each other. September 11, 2001 was a day when the United States truly became a "united" force.

I was nine or so hours out of transplant surgery. A nurse came in and asked me if I had heard about the plane. I said, "No..." She let me know that it was on every channel, so I turned on the TV in the room. I saw the second plane hit and thought, "Those are really good special effects...what movie is this?" It was surreal because I still had pain meds in my system and was hurting very much. It was like a bad dream, and I began to pray for everyone. Even the suicide kamikaze pilots. I was not scared or angry. Just trying to wrap my brain around it and thinking about all of the people that had to have been in those towers.

I was at school, senior year, 1st period, accounting class.
They came over the announcements to tell us and I was kind of in shock and didn't really know what to make of it... it wasn't until they turned on the TV and I saw what was going on that I realized how big.... the whole ordeal really was.
I then became very scared having witnessed the 2nd one fly into the towers. I thought it was the end of the world or something, having seen something so tragic going on.

I think it was more like, "wow, something interesting is happening"
I don't live in NYC so I wasn't scared... I don't know anybody who died so I wasn't angry.
