I think australia should get it as Azania does not have the infrastructure and has an awful rape(150 a day) and murder(60 a day) record. And the funding they save they can put it towards more Affirmative action projects.

Ok, so you know Azania was the term used by many who opposed white-minority-rule in the Republic of South Africa; I don't think the country has changed name and it no longer has white-minority-rule. I think you are still living in the past.

Most of the social ills come from a lack of opportunity, by people marginalised. By affirmative action, are you saying that the money spent to prepare the country for the World Cup should be used in programmes to help the poor? I think that helping people get out of the poverty trap is the aim we should have, but diverting funds from the World Cup to Affirmative Action isn't necessarily the best way forward.

The World Cup does a lot of things. First when preparing the stadia and other venues, people will find jobs, in the construction industry for example. People will find jobs.

Secondly, the world cup is a generator of money. South Africa should make more money out of the World Cup that what is being put in. South Africa will be on the forefront of the media, generating huge awareness and long term benefits in terms of tourism for example.

Therefore I think that organising the world cup is more beneficial to South Africa and the poor people of South Africa than direct Affirmative Action. Furthermore, the track record of Affirmative Action is not that spotless.

What the South African government has to do is spend as much of the money as possible on local companies who have the know-how to build the stadia and infrastructure, injecting cash straight back into the South African economy immediately, and making a marked difference lives of the people, especiall the poor, immeidately.

I think australia should get it because in the united states of america, they are so many rapes and murder in every major city yet it host the world cup without being noted for soccer. We should just give everything to the European based country because the own the whole world. Haven't South Africa being thru enough because of ignorant fools and bigots like you.Yet they should not host the world cup. Do you know the country with the highest murder and rape in the world, if not just shut up and let other people breath. They don't need affirmative action ,the land and country belongs to the citizens of the country. Affirmative action was introduce to help the less unfortunate, bigot. You don't own the world .You came into this world like everybody else, you didn't plan your color, race or gender, why not respect other human beings ilke you bigot. When you die moron you can even't take nothing with you ignorant moron.

I assume there is a reason to not quote statistics about these crime rates in Australia. Besides Australia and Affirmative Action? Give me a break. They are more racist than the US.
