I certainly think it should be illegal. Everytime i go to Highpoint shopping centre i always see parents smacking their kids. I feel so guilty about the pain they feel.

Oh get a life. Are you a parent? I can't tell you how many times I've seen a spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum in the store while the parent looked on like a helpless idiot. If that kid got a good spanking, they'd probably stop the bad behavior. You know, back in the day when spanking was acceptable, there was a lot less crime and kids were more respectful and better behaved. It's the liberal idiots like you who are putting the gene pool into utter and dismal ruin. Do everyone a favor and don't breed. Someday your kid will grow up to be a rapist or a robber because they were never taught discipline or self control

Well it depends the difference between smacking and hitting. Hitting a child is already illegal smacking a child is a non-verbal way of telling your child to stop. In my view I don't believe it should be illegal, if it doesn't leave a sustained pain it is still an acceptable degree of force to keep a child diciplined.

Are You Serious? It's just a way to discipline children! None of your buisness how parents treat their kids.They should smack em' when they throw a temper tantrum and etc.! Say you were at a shopping mall and out of nowhere your kid throws a temper tantrum.That leaves you looking like a dumb helpless idiot! Smack Em' Right On The Butt.They will learn to be respectful.Child abuse is a whole different story.

In the face, absolutely not. On the butt, if they are being jerks, yes. I can tell you never have lived in a Mormon community-their kids are the worst behaved because there is no discipline.

You have got to be kidding. You aren't their parent. It's none of your business! You must not have kids. No kid deserves to "beat" but a swat is necessary at times.

it's none of your business how people discipline their kids unless it's child abuse. I spank my kids on their butts and they are well behaved unlike the kids I see lately.
