Any noun that you can experience with one of the five senses is a concrete noun.

The "Big Dipper:"

Can you taste it? NO
Can you smell it? NO
Can you feel it? NO
Can you hear it? NO
Can you see it? YES

So the Big Dipper is a concrete noun.

This gets confusing because some sources give the impression that you have to be able to see, feel, taste, etc. That is not the case, as long as you can do one, it is a concrete noun.

i believe it is concrete because although you can probably not physically touch it with your hands, you can see it and it is physically there...

an abstract would be more like rest and hapiness
