Whether, it is with love, hobbies, music, or life itself, do you really think that you can be content with your life when you look back at it about 20 years from now?;) ..If not? Why??

I am just wondering...

I think there will always be some discontent because there just isn't enough time in life to do and learn everything you want to. I do try to be thankful for the time I have and try to make each day productive in some way. I also try to be kind and thoughtful, not wanting to have regrets later in life.

There is a big difference between happy and content. And the question you ask, begs the question what do you mean by content?

To me being content means that you are fine with the way things are, the norm. If nothing improves, or nothing worsens you will be fine. But I feel that all humans strive to do something better, or have something nicer, or be happier in some way. So I don't believe anyone is ever truly content.

I am completely content with many aspects of my life, but like most others, I would like to have more money. I would like to be able to travel more, and do the things that are passing me by. So everything is in place except for the amount of money I make and the amount of time I have to spend it. so what else is new. In 20 years, I am positive I will be able to look back and be quite satisfied with the way things have been. I live a pretty good life, but it can always be better you know?

I am, but your replies might vary based on the age of the one answering. Usually those that have passed the age of 40 have reached a level of contentment and satisfaction. College and career are past tense and so is the child bearing issue.

I'm not content with my life as it is and I've been doing a lot of work trying to figure out how I want things to be. Seems like it shouldn't be that hard to figure out what I want, but that's the situation.

How could I ever be anything but content with myself?
How horrible a thing to think that one would be at odds with themselves. Love of self is the only way to exist. How could you value anything other?

Contentment is not with the things you have or have not. It is basically the joy with in.

I am one of those, melodramatic fools, who will never be content with my life.

If you are content with yourself , you are at peace, and you will never bother yourself with that question...peace is peace...nothing to add , nothing to exclude.
