It sounds very malevolent, doesn't it?I read this in high school, and that's when I turned away from christianity. How could a loving God treat us like loathsome bugs? Why is the essence of fundamentalist Christianity a kind of twisted self--hatred. How can any sin of any person, warrant eternal damnation for a temporary act?

Crazy. That's religion for you. It sounds like what would spout if Edgar Allen Poe went religious.
