The clue was fictional character. I looked at it and yelled out the answer before any letters were called...Weird huh?

Actually, the probabability can be calculated (I am assuming this was the bonus round):
Wheel of Fortune provides the letters R-S-T-L-N-E and then the person picks three additional consonants and a vowel. For the sake of argument, I'll say B-D-F and A so that the clue is still blank. This leaves 16 remaining letters in the alphabet must make up the word with at least 1 vowel being the only requirement for the word to be valid. So the number of possible outcomes for the spelling of the clue is 1x16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16 or approx. 4.295 to the power of 9 possible "arrangements" of letters. Given that many of these arrangements are nonsense, this number only represents an upper maximum of possible guesses. The number of nine letter words in the world, or in English, or just names would all be smaller numbers of words to pick from.
