That amount varys for all people. Depends on how greedy and needy people are. Some people need money and things to be happy, while other people don't

Whenever you think about a 'chicken for tomorrows pot'...you are going to cause yourself some anxiety.some of the most wonderful moments of my life were spent when I was homeless, living in the mountains of New Mexico...Not pleasant much of the time...but great inner joy had I.
Today, I am very careful never to incurr expense that is not necessary...that is to say, New car, morgtage...rents..women that do not know how to order in a restaurant..My house cost me 18,000 dollars. I paid cash rather than buy a big house and pay a morgtage. When i had the money...i put it into the house. I always buy a used car. Also I don't look to buy or invest in anything that is too "hip' or 'Popular'...i will move to that neighborhood that is beautiful and has character, that no one wants to live in because it is not cool....hence...I buy cheap...and sell for a fortune... What does this all mean... ???
Well in practical terms...money is always accumulating. I can afford to be as generous as I want and eat whereever I want and travel anywhere I want on the planet at any time i want,,,and you know what??? I haven't worked a straight job in......20 years.
My advise.?..don't ever...EVER...bite off more than you can chew. Buy cheap, sell high....always go for the highest quality..be generous...it all comes back to you ...Sometimes, when eaten under a starry sky, just a baked potato cooked with love and shared with even a homeless stranger...is the best stuff on earth..
good luck,
Fred

After buying food, paying the rent, and getting a car, you're still not happy? If you lived in a place like Sudan, just the food would make you happy!!!

More then what's left. It's funny, people always say "money isn't everything" but have you ever noticed that money is related to those things that are "everything." Here is a list of things related to money, that everyone needs:
groceries
gas
clothes
shoes
shelter
most relationships fail because of money:
business relationships
marriages
friends...
so I'm thinking, I want an excess of money. not because I'm greedy, not because I'm evil, but because I'm tired of living check to check, I'm tired of counting pennies. I started a business to make my goal. What's yours?
A person shouldn't need money to be happy. Money shouldn't even be a thought or consideration for happiness. That's why we should create residual income, and focus on the real things in life, like love, family and faith the three things that make us happy, well besides ourselves.

Varies person to person. Some are content, even without that much basic income. Others would be dissatisfied even if they had unlimited wealth.
Personally, I just need $35 more a month. $20 for net access and $15 for World of Warcraft.

It's an individual thing. Some people can live with the clothes on their back, and be happy.
Others would be depressed.
Some need to buy five cars(see MTV Cribs) to be happy.

I think none. You don't have to have money to be happy at all. I have seen many people with absolutely nothing with a grin on there face. But I have also seen some wealthy people with frowns. Many wealthy people frown...cannot figure out why. Maybe they have forgotten what being truly happy is like...

A person should be happy without a penny, since happiness comes from other things than what money buys.

Money is not relevant for happiness. Happiness comes from within. An unhappy person will be unhappy with any amount of money, and a happy person will be happy with nothing.
Just my $.02
