1.) You wouldn't want your wireless modem to be integrated. You dont even need a wireless modem. You just need a wireless card.

2.) Yes, you can buy upgrades which are less expensive than buying just the standard version you are trying to upgrade to.

3.) Yes, but you have to either be connected via ethernet or wireless card.

4.) www.ebay.com

good luck

Good grief, Robert. Is this a quiz?

1) Possibly. Is that modem internal? Is that an internal card? Are you talking about the 56K Modem cards that slide in/out of a slot on the side? You can install a wireless card inside a laptop (or slip one in the slot). I have a tiny laptop (Dell Latitude C400) that's at least 4 years old and I installed a wireless card in this little bad boy and he works like a charm.

2) No. I have found that I couldn't upgrade, per se, from Windows 2000 to XP. Rather, I did a full-install. Is that what you meant? XP has a feature that helps you back your stuff up before you do a full-install and then XP walks you through putting everything back. Very slick and easy to do.

3) Of course you can. Comcast wouldn't be in business if you couldn't. I don't work for them and I don't have their service but -- I'm sure that they'll direct you to some happy people (in another country) to help you with this.

4) Have you tried Ebay? Cragslist.org? I like Craigslist because it's local. But, we did purchase a used IBM Thinkpad for about $400 a couple of years ago (it died a watery death -- there was a storm, we were out of town, housecleaners left desk window open... *shudders* it was a sad, sad day).

Dude, you are a stickler for details! Good luck and let me know if you have questions.

1. My XP laptop has a 56k modem and built in wireless card. You can get an external wireless device to pick up signals.

2. If your laptop has more than 10 GB of HD space I would consider upgrading, and yes you can. Just need a windows xp pro or home (i prefer pro) startup disk and boot from it.

3. You can get any internet for a laptop!!!

4. Ebay!

4.) Ebay probably has the best deals.

2.) Yes you can, just boot from the WinXP CD.

3.)Yes, just but the Wireless Card, a wireless router and hook the router to the modem and your set.

4.) eBay... or maybe a pawn shop?
