If your not squeamish about taking the case off it would not hurt to get a can of air and blow out the inside once in a while. If the chips get to much dust (and it takes a lot) on them they could heat up more than usual and cause problems. You can usually judge how much may be in by the vents on the back and around the fan if they are dirty then you probably need to clean it. Good luck and happy computing.

yes it needs to be cleaned out periodically especially if it sets on the floor. dust gets stirred up when you walk around the room and the power supply blower blows it right in there. this can cause many problems.
i suggest that you don't clean it yourself. take it to the shop the first time and have them show you the correct way to do that.
if you dislodge and chips, cables, wires or boards your computer won't work anymore.
be smart get gelp from a professional
if you have a floppy drive it also needs it's recording heads cleaned occasionally. go to an office supply store and get a floppy drive cleaning kit. while you are thgere get a cd/dvd cleaning kit as well. the hard drive is permanently sealed so don't bother trying to clean it's heads.

YES! Open the cover and use a can of air to blow out all the accumulated dust, etc. from inside. You'll be glad you did. If left to gather too long dust can cause big probs with comp guts.

Yes. Dust accumulates everywhere and inside your computer dust gathers. Cover must be removed and the dust carefully cleaned out. If you are not sure how to clean up the dust do not attempt to do it yourself.

If your computer is more than 3 years old you may want to dust it up a bit.
And yes, turn your computer off and preferably unplug it too, so you don't get shocked.

Let a professional do it. Sure, it costs money, but it's much less than if you went and poked around the insides of your computer and then had to go have it repaired.

Yes, otherwise it will get all clogged up with dust. Take off the cover and blow on it with all your might.

Yes, you do need to do that, lol. A hair drier is the best thing to do it, but take it outside before doing that. Do you have cats or other animals near the room or in it?

makes a huge difference, look into your computer and you will see alot of dust particles, get some air cleaner and blow it around the components that will help it from over heating as well
