The bat is 32" and 23oz, may seem big for me, but I'm 5'2" and I oringally use a 22.5oz bat which is light to me.

no you need a -3, so if you wanted a 32" bat it would have to be 29oz. High School rules. You can use whatever length of a bat you want as long as it is -3. You can use 31" 28oz. I think that maybe the smallest they make -3 bats though.

no you can only use bats that are -3 which means if a bat is 32 inches it will weigh 29 oz

besides the "straight away arm" try listed above try this: grab the bat and take a pair swings....first inclusive of your left hand purely, then with you're suitable hand purely. in case you could no longer take care of administration of the bat in the process the strikezone (if the bat head drops or lags in the back of) that's probable too heavy. additionally, i think that a newbie could use a delicate bat. That way you learn appropriate swing mechanics and make extra touch...by way of fact the participant's self belief rises, he/she will pass to a heavier/longer bat. As for length, a sturdy rule of thumb is to stand the bat up on its end next on your hip. you're able to be waiting to stand straight away up and grab the bat purely under the knob. in case you're able to bend over to %. it up, that is too short. in case you grab it extra desirable than a hand's with under the knob, that is too long.
