Isn't all life sacred? Or is it just the unborn? Did God give up the power of vengence to the President of the United States?

President Bush has provided written legal authority to the C.I.A. to hunt down and kill the terrorists without seeking further approval each time the agency is about to stage an operation. Some officials said the terrorist list was known as the "high-value target list." A spokesman for the White House declined to discuss the list or issues involving the use of lethal force against terrorists. A spokesman for the C.I.A. also declined to comment on the list.
Despite the authority given to the agency, Mr. Bush has not waived the executive order banning assassinations, officials said. The presidential authority to kill terrorists defines operatives of Al Qaeda as enemy combatants and thus legitimate targets for lethal force.

Captured terrorists act as undying Martyrs, and inspire more terrorists kidnap people to try and get them freed. Dead terrorists are just normal Martyrs.
Not that I agree with George Bush Junior on many things. I used to be a Republican, but he has driven me squarely into the Democratic camp. Bush is getting carried away, stamping all over civil rights and allowing torture, God only knows what other crimes he is committing in the name of the US and national security.
George Bush Junior will go down in history as the worst president in the last 200 years.

Did I miss something and Pres Bush Said "KILL 'EM ALL"?
I don't think so.
Let's try some logic. Terrorist = unreasonable, can we agree on that?
People who strap bombs to retarded children and send them into populated areas to deploy as weapons to kill more innocent people, what kind of justice so you think they deserve?
Now, knowing this, knowing dying in the name of their cause is the highest of highs, do you believe they are going to go out peacefully and allow themselves to be captured and punished OR do you think they will choose the hail of bullets and 72 virgins route?
Use Logic here, Bush ISN'T killing anyone!
PS...JEEZ, using lethal force against enemy combatants, what a horrible idea. (FYI:this is sarcasm)

Because Justice will be served when they are DEAD. Furthermore if you want to bring God into this solution, what part of the ten commandments DO terrorist listen to? No part at all, their religion is based on the love of hatred and spreading it abroad.

Dead men don't shoot back. How just do you propose we capture these fanatics? Rubber bullets won't put them down. Tasers don't have enough range. Pepper spray dosen't affect the trigger finger. Do you think that we should risk our soldiers lives to pry the Assault rifles from their hands? If it was their choice we would all be dead, so why should feel any different about them?
Plus, its a war. In war, people die. End of story.

Like most fundamentalist Christians, he picks and applies which portions of the Bible fit his aims and prejudices the best. He has no qualms about supporting the death penality, inciting a preemptive attack on people who didn’t attack us, and summarily killing men in combat situations without a fair hearing. However, to kill an unborn life is unconscionable. Sometimes I think he is too much of simpleton to see the dichotomy in his own rhetoric and actions.

His (GW Bush) is a homegrown "good ol' boy" Texan personality. His Texas culture and wealthy upbringing have given him a force-oriented view of politics and success. To a large extent (regardless of what he claims), he believes success is right (opp. to justice and truth are right). He claims religion, but his world view is very...well... worldly.

I don't know exactly how to answer this one , but from my knowledge he never said he wanted to kill all terrorists. But he is trying to protect people. I may not agree with him on most things but you got to give him credit for trying to protect people.

What are you basing your question on? Life is sacred and if you see what Bush is doing as strictly retaliatory and vengeful, then you are severely lacking a part of the equation.
