I heard somewhere that Spongebob was originally going to be a gay cartoon for adults, but found that it appealed to kids much more, so they changed it. Is this true?

Spongebob IS a gay cartoon for adults...it appeals to kids also. They just cut the soft porn clips for the sake of Nickelodeon.

This sounds like the same kind of bulls*** crap that was said ad done when Teletubbies came out . Also the same kind of crap about Disney several years ago when the religious right called for a boycott of Disney. I'm not a person that cares much for Gayism and certainly don't advocate it but I am sick and tired of this kind of crap coming up every time some dumba**es get together and try to belittle and get rid of something they perceive as GAY. I watch Sponge Bob with my granddaughter and have even watched Teletubies and I don't see anything in any of these shows that suggest they are Gay or that they would influence any one to turn Gay. The next thing you know some a**hole will be attacking the Wiggles or the Doodlebops. Whoever you are out there that is responsible for all this kind of bulls*** , STOP! We the parents of our children have the intelligence to decide for ourselves what is OK for our children to watch and don't want or welcome any of your A**ININE opinions.

No ,this was just a rumor.A bunch of puritans got together and decided that Spongebob was gay.Then they had nothing better to do so they started a petition to stop the show.None of the KIDS thought he was gay and if he was they wouldn't care.It takes years b4 a parent can pass on their prejudices to their kids.

i dont know, but some parents are trying to ban it because they think spongebob is gay. but i love him! the show is awesome, i dont care how gay he is!
