It's not a word used for academic assignments very often. I think an overview is the same as a summary. Just state who the main character(s) is, and what is the main concern of the main character. Is he trying to get a girl, or trying to defeat a very formidible enemy, or both. Then how does it turn out. That's the climax, when you find out if the hero gets what he is after, if they find out "who done it" etc.

For example, if you were to summarize the story of Batman you would say: It's about a man who decides to become a vigilante because his parents were murdered in front of him. He then has to stop an insane criminal from killing everyone in his home town, Gotham city. It turns out that the criminal was the murderer who killed his parents. In the end he kills the criminal (the joker), and is acknowledged as a great hero by the Police commissioner.

Overview = brief synopses of the book. It's a summary of what the book is about. You can think of "overview" like: a quick description of the landscape of the book.

Is a generalization. I asked for concepts for the social gathering, yet your theory is purely too precis, are you able to be greater specific than once you assert "mellow"? Oh, ok, I recommend like a tropical topic, quite of a Las Vegas topic, via fact it is too wild! properly, that is totally specific.
