The wiretapping only consisted of records of times and places called by individuals, no actual evesdropping was carried out.

Notice: The only people being tapped are calling this country from a foreign country. They are being tapped because they are suspected to be affiliated with terrorist organizations. Both sides of the conversation can be heard if only one side is tapped. Who are they calling and why? That is what the government wants to know. Does this person know they are speaking to terrorists, or is it some other unrelated business. Does this person call the suspected terrorists.
If enough info is gathered a warrant to tap that person's phone is in order. If nothing is happening, move on to someone else.

Yea all for it if it snags some crazies. They can listen to my phone calls anytime they want, I will let them do this because I love my country and want to support the destruction of terrorists. see how common sense will always win.

I'm against it. I don't think people realize how easily innocent people can start to look guilty to the powers that be. It happens, it really does. I just hope the innocent don't throw away their rights only to regret it later.
