If you are looking to stay with a smaller animal, try looking in your local paper. People are always trying to get rid of their little pets. This is a great way to get a new pet because you are giving an unwanted animal a home, and they often come with a full set up (cage, toys, etc.)

Think of thing things you enjoyed and loved the most about your bird, and see what other animal has those similar traits, without actually replacing your bird.
