I'm just curious based on your personal experiences, what company has the best financial advisors?

Edward Jones can't be beat for a "full service" brokerage. But you'll pay full freight. Other than that, investment banking houses can be good but depends on where you are. On the other hand, any person with a bit of common sense can do pretty well. Look at www.vanguard.com (an EXCELLENT company that puts investors interests ahead of theirs) and look at their funds. Go to www.investopedia.com to learn about investing.

typically, you would go for the bulge bracket firms in investment banking for this particular service. You can try one of the following companies:
1. Merrill Lynch
2. Deutsche Bank
3. Credit Swiss
4. UBS
5. JP Morgan
6. Goldman Sachs
7. Lehman Brothers
8. Morgan Stanley
9. Bear Stearns
10. Barclays

It will vary. Try doing some research of your own! IFAs currently in the UK are struggling to make any money after the mis-selling scandles of the past.

One option is to build part of your savings in a portfolio of your own ... but stick to recognisable names rather than riskier small companies ... for them you need to spread risk more than someone normally can as an individual. Yahoo Finance is a useful resource to use to analyse potential investments.
