Animals! It's cheaper to board a dog then to find a babysitter for a kid, and you can leave them outside overnight without fear of child protective services knocking at your door. You never have to worry about college and as long as you get them spayed or neutered, you don't have to worry about pregnancy.

animals first just to make sure that I could care for them with my partner, then I would up to kids. Wow that'll be a handful when the time comes!
