how much is the commission percentage for realtors?

i know a guy who has to sell a house for 2.5 million dollars.... how much will his commission be? does he get like 5% or less?

Normally 3 % for the sellers agent and 3 % for the buyers agent!

I'm not too sure, but I think it's 12 to 15.5%. But that's only a guess.
