In some states, if you cannot afford an attorney the Court can order your soon-to-be-ex-spouse to help pay for your attorney. Call the Court and ask about that. Also, see if your state has a website for "self-help" on doing your own divorce. This is usually found on the Court's website. You should be able to do your own subpoenas and the instructions and even a sample form would be on the Court's website. The Court has to sign off on the subpoena and you would have to get someone to "serve" it on the persons you wish to subpoena.

court service documents in your state-probably-vary from mine. in AZ you don't need an attorney because divorce is a civil issue and not criminal. go to your local justice precinct. Ask the people in the office.

you can go to your local library and get on their computer and bring up how to draw up legal documents . Once you get you get them drawn up you can go to your local courthouse to the circuit clerks office and for a fee you can have your papers filed and served. I know this because I already checked into it because I am getting ready to do this and file for my divorce.

You're screwed then, unless you can find someone who will work pro-bono.
