get rid of the fraction! isolate the variable!

multiply both sides by the recipricol of 1/47 (that is 47/1, or just 47)

47(1/47)d = -26(47)

d = -1,222

I am pretty sure all you have to do is divide -26 by 1/47 to get d. What your equation says: 1/47 x d = -26, so you just do the opposite.

Multiply each side by 47

Please ignore the answers posted, they are all wrong.

1/47d = -26
multiply d on both sides => d/47d = -26d
cancel out d on left side => 1/47 = -26d
multiply both sides by -1/26 => -1/(47*26) = d
answer => d = -1/1222
