Yes, I think so. Because it offers more of a chance of people being freer and more anonymous than they are in real life although these days everything can be traced.

Yes. It's like talking in a public with your mask on. You don't fear anything on the internet except your true identity getting unveiled and exposed by accident.
I have this experience of even falling in love with a person I met on the chat world when I was a PC newbie. Didn't know the difference between reality and fantasy at that moment. To make the long story short, the person I felt so emotionally dependent on online - didn't exist at all!!! She was merely a virtual person!

They can be when they communicate with people they know.
They are likely less honest when presenting themselves to people they don't know....like chat lines. It can be very risky responding to a person or worse yet meeting a person who has misrepresented themselves, for example an adult pretend to be a young kid in a chat room for kids
On the other hand people have met over the net and enjoyed longlasting relationships

Usually they ARE more open mainly because they believe that they're never going to see those people again so theres no need for them to hide things. And alot of people feel like its easier to type out what they're feeling than to actually say it to the person. Very childish i must say

More open in other things except real identity. Nothing wrong with that but dont believe them in that regard
