USB stands for Universal Serial Bus.
You know what 'universal' means, so I won't explain that.
'Serial' means that data is transferred 1 bit at a time, as opposed to data transfer on a 32 bit CPU, which can read and write data 32 bits at a time.
'Bus' is a term used for a grouping of control and data lines that connect between circuits. A 32 bit bus transfers 32 bits of data at a time, but there are more circuit lines than 32, because there needs to be several lines that control the data flow.
