IF YOU REALLY LIKE HIM, then go out with him, judge for yourself, and remember that "forewarned is forearmed" (in other words, since you've been warned by SO MANY PEOPLE, you'll know to look out for signs that he's insincere, lying, etc., and you won't fall for any of the "lines" that he might give you too readily).
