I think the Pharoah Akhenaten would be a fascinating subject. Not just because of his intriguing looks but also because he was an iconoclast. Here's a link to set you on your way:

Hows a 'bout the Book of the Dead? There are so many things Egypt can provide for you if you would just go to an informational website. If it's an assignment, shouldn't you atleast vouch that you did real research? And besides, alot of Egypt's famous artifacts are well known, you should know them already, the sphinx, Tut's tomb, If it doesn't interest you (which I think I gather from the fact that you're not researching it yourself) just pick one and get it over with, you don't have to like it.

I would choose either the bust of Nefertiti, because if its beauty,
or the statue of the scribe, because of its interest.
And the statues of Ramses II (there are several almost identical ones), because of their majesty.
And you have an extra anecdote there, as one was recently moved from its original placement to the new Egyptian Museum. Quite a feat, considering its size and weight!
