By shaking, do you mean that it runs very rough and shakes at idle and under acceleration?
If that is the case, you probably have a misfire on one or more cylinders.
If that is indeed the case, you will have to determine which cylinder(s) is/are involved and do a bit of diagnostics.
The trouble could be
1) Fouled spark plug(s)
2) Defective plug wire(s)
3) Cracked/carbon tracked distributor cap
4) Low compression due to
a) burned valve
b) flat cam lobe
c) broken valve spring
d) burned piston crown & or rings
5) Possible vacuum leak at
a) PCV valve
b) power brake unit
c) Vacuum accessory tree at rear on intake manifold.

Many more possibilities, but this should keep you busy for at least 10 minutes. ;-)=

Good Luck

It is likely one of three things. Your ball joints are out of whack and need replacing, one or more tires are bald or the ball bearings in your wheels need to be replaced. Tie Rod or ball joints is the most likely problem for your mechanic to check on.
