I don't think it is any of your business on how to find her, her birth-mother gave her up for a reason. How do you know if she isn't happy where she is at now. I'm sure she is in a good home, it's really not your place to find her, it may cause problems with you and your boyfriend.

Your boyfriend should ask himself why he may feel compelled to pursue this action now or is it only your own wishful thinking? A lot depends on whether the records of the adoption were open or closed at the request of the biological mother. If the records were closed then it would take a court order to have them opened, provided of course one knew where and when the adoption took place. Also one must also presume that the adoptive parents would wish the brother to be in contact, as she is still a minor and in their legal custody. And even if the boy is old enough to have custody (who are "everyone" to which you refer?), most cases of custody are ruled in favor of the adoptive parents or if they are both deceased, to whomever custody was given at the time of their deaths. I would think that the best he could ever hope for finding his sister will be more likely after she is no longer a minor.

You should NOT be meddling in your Boyfriend's Mother's Business like this. Adoption is a safe, legal choice that is available for women in the United States. That choice and that Privacy should not be judged by other people. I think you are being very Nosy and Rude, and I bet that if your Boyfriend's Mom knew that you were trying to locate the daughter she gave up--she would be furious with you..That girl is most likely with a good family..And on top of that--your Boyfriend probably is not ready to raise a child. Unless that little girl is in the foster care system instead of an adopted family--Mind Your Own Business.

First off does the mom that gave her up want to find her. How did she give her up private adoption or open? Also the company she went with would have that info but due to HIPPA laws it is confidential. Do you know her new last name? There are alot of steps in finding someone...especially if the mom doesn't want to find her. You could cause alot of damage in both people. I think that your intentions are nice but maybe focus on something different unless the mom is for it.

you could have your boyfriend call the court house in the county where he thinks she is and he could find her adoption papers and that might help
