I thought the new Mpfreedom looks pretty cool, and I have an ipod mini at the moment. And im not too into the nanos. So if you could suggest something cool looking, that has a lot of memory and good features.

I find that an ipod mini is fabulous. It has lovely colors to choose from, plus it's rare. They don't sell them anymore. Instead they replaced it with the dumb idea of a Nano. If you would like to purchase one, go to amazon.com or eBay for great deals.
Extensive battery life, and compact!
Nanos are SO easy to steal, and the color consumes alot of battery life. Very easy to lose, sit on, or break.
You won't be so special now that everyone(almost everyone) wants to have one.

I hate ipods if the thing goes wrong then the songs on it are doomed too.
I have a PDA with memory sticks. I record mp3 onto it

the best mp3 player would have been the one that suited your daily usage without paying big bucks. if you like to watch video clips, choose the one with video viewer. if you don't intend to, buy a normal one (you wouldn't want to watch a video clip when you're driving or walking, would you?)
do a research on various brands, they are actually all the same, it's the brand that determines the price, so choose wisely.
