My question to you is why would you want to split an atom?? Atom splitting is very costly and time consuming. The process of splitting an atom is called nuclear fission, and leads to nuclear energy if done in a controlled manner, or atomic bombs if released all at once. I would highly reccommend that you leave nuclear fission to the professionals, unless you want to risk blowing up the whole city.

They recognized for ones whose nucleii have been plenty much less stable, and for this reason plenty much less annoying to split. oftentimes, the heavier the nucleus (the greater effective protons and neutrons), the plenty much less stable the atom. additionally they mandatory atoms that are present day-day in some abundance for sure. The heaviest ingredient sufficient in nature is uranium. as far as we are waiting to tell or degree, each and each atom of an isotope (like U-238) of uranium (or the quite a few ingredient) is the same. So one atom of U-238 is not any further effective specific than the quite a few.

atoms split in high tech labs and under special conditions that cost billions of dollars. If you managed to pull it off under the wrong conditions you would cause a nuclear holocaust. You would wipe out half a city atleast.
