(2) denominator is about half the numerator
(3) numerator and denominator are relatively close together

Fractions near 0 have thier denominator (bottom number) a large value in comparison to their numerator (top number).

Fractions near 1/2 have their denominator nearly twice the value of the numerator

Fractions near 1 have both their denominator and numerator nearly the same value
