Magic the Gathering is a good TCG that attracts the attention of millions worldwide, its only as expensive as you make it and allows you to go out there and meet many more people who are interested in the hobby as well.
Check out www.magicthegathering.com for the hobbies home website, it has a store locator which will allow you to find the closest store to you that runs the game. Just stop by and ask for a demo game; most stores run them.
You can also check out fan websites like www.magicdeckvortex.com, so see what people think of the hobby, or you can contact me and we can chat about the hobby if you like.

If you have imagination and a bit of skills, you can do anything.
If you live in the countryside, you can go outdoors and bring back flowers, branches, any natural material. Then inside you can make compositions.
If you like to take pictures, you can film any of your creation, before, in doing them, when finished.
You can make plans: for example, next decoration for Christmas or any feast.
You can cook any kind of recipes, find the cheapest, easiest, best ones.
You can create gifts for your friends and family for any circumstances.
You can grow plants or seeds to eat.
24 hours are not enough to tell you what I could do.
Just start, one idea comes and another follows.
Have fun!

If you are creative or artistic, try making greeting cards. This is one hobby with low start up costs.....paper,glue,scissors, glitter, ribbon ,a few rubber stamps, colored pencils, and a couple of gel pens. There are lots of greeting card projects on www.hgtv.com and click on the Carol Duvall show. Total start up cost would be about 20-25 dollars and should get enough supplies to make several dozen cards.

I enjoy weaving. Appart from the initial expense of the loom, it's reasonably cheap, depending on the sort of yarn you happen to be using. Good luck with finding a new hobby.

Have you tried plastic canvas? You can make lots of different things with it. Also you could try quilting. I like doing these because it gives me things to show when I am done and also hand down to my children and grandchildren. Whatever you find to do good luck with it and enjoy what you are doing.

Try collecting vinyl records.
That's what I do & now I have one of the collect collections on the block.
I paid like $5.00 for each record, only to keep them for a few more years & fimd out they were worth upwards of $40.00 or more.
