(September 20)
Today, Hugo Chavez lambasted Bush at the UN, calling him a devil and chastising him for yesterday "talking at us [arrogantly] as if he owned the whole world..."
Last night the President of Iran - the one with the long name beginning with "A" - likewise tore at Bush and described American hypocrisy in general and Bush's in particular.
Notwithstanding that these guys are a couple of egomaniacs, and perhaps dangerous, is it not true that their words, per se, are correct?

No, it's not true. But if you agree with them, their mentality, and their politics you have several borders to choose from. Simply leave the country. Bye.

Whether or not their points were valid, the way that they went about expressing their views grossly undermined any truth their comments may have contained. Blatantly attacking Bush in such an outright and vicious manner in front of the UN just made them seem rude and over-the-top. There are more effective ways of pointing out the Bush administration's many failings that are more constructive than calling Bush the devil.

the US is a world power. The other leaders would like to change that. irans leader villified the US to gain the sympathies of other leaders. They would like peace by getting rid of those who they don't like, and by everyone converting to Islam. Chavez is a businessman partnered with Iran and others. Maybe arrogance is abundant in speakers at the UN or maybe leaders have to have a confidence that other leaders and people get offended over. If we don't like our leader appearing strong, decisive or leading the world, what would we have him be?
American hypocrisy is nothing compared to Iran's leaders comments about how they are going to wipe out Israel and US, and then tell the UN they just want peace. The US leaders aren't perfect, and neither are the people, but we really have a basically good system if we don't screw it up.

Yes I believe they are. And that is cause for great humiliation for myself and all thinking Americans. Isn't it terrible that we are represented by such a pathetic, ego maniacal, stupid rich kid? I'm personally mortified by it, and will be doing everything I can to remove the right wing fanatics from office this fall.

Yes, I believe they are correct. If you didn't pay attention to Pres Ahmadinejad's speech, he mentioned the words, love compassion, God, justice, dignity ,and acceptance, frequently throughout the speech.
