since the perimeter is 48 and a square has 4 sides . . divide 48 by 4 . . that will give you the length of each side . . .

then to find the area . . the area of a square is equal to the side squared . . . or side times side . . . so whatever you found for the length of the side . . multiply that number times itself, and that will give you the area . . .

A square has equal sides, if 48 is the total lenth of all the sides, and a square has 4 sides, you should be able to find the length of one side
Once you know the length of one side, plug it in to the formula for area to get your answer.

so a square is a 4 sided shape with 4 equal sides. first find out how many meters each side is...otherwise divide by 4. once you know that number plug it in the area formula which is A=Length times width. After you get this numer don't forget to put in the units...otherwise the teacher may dock pts. =)

okaty it's a 4 sided object right so divide the perimeter by 4 you know how to do area.
