You can look into getting a loan at the bank. If you have good credit, you may not need collateral. If you have collateral, such as a home, you can get a home equity loan or a second mortgage.

Never pledge your home as security for any loan. Unexpected things do happen and if you cannot pay it back, you will become homeless. Better bankrupt than homeless.
