The music industry is rather unfair. For the most part, real honest-to-God "talent" is not even needed to be a successful musical act anymore.
More emphasis is placed on how a person looks that if they can actually really sing or play an instrument. If somebody has "The Look" that a record company is looking for, technology can do all of the rest. All they have to do is get the singer in the studio to lay down some tracks, then a producer can make them sound like a million bucks with all of the digital processing that is available today.
You can attribute this all to MTV. They have made music a visual media. Until they came around, music was mainly heard on radio where it did not really matter what the singer, or group looked like.
In a perfect world, a musician would be judged on their musical ability, sadly, as we know, that is not the case anymore.... If you are not "camera ready" as they say, you may as well forget it.

New musical artists hit the track scene each and every twelve months. This comparable question has been asked interior the previous, decrease back interior the day while Madonna or maybe formerly her have been contolling the air waves. regularly, a pop initiate has a 10 twelve months life span of great extreme acceptance. on an identical time as female Gaga and Rihanna have a minimum of yet another 5 years to pass, as does Katy Perry. Justin Bieber, on the different hand, he won't have as long as his actual visual attraction is changing and now that he's over the age of 18 he would purely have yet another 2 years to pass. regrettably, while those artists are long previous others will are available in to fill their places for that reason liberating diverse songs that babies love and various others hate.

Well, no one's making you watch MTV... I certainly don't watch it. But I must agree that there are tons of musicians out there and they're just less and less talented than they used to be. Too many of them need tons of computer mixing before they sound good, when fifty years ago, it was mostly a few instruments and purely talented voices.
And as far as less-talented genres go.... Well, I think it's fair to say that I am increasingly disappointed with country music as of late. It used to be my favorite, but every new song that comes out seems to be ripping of a ton of others out there, country or not. It's a genre losing its twangy identity, becoming the new pop, and can lay claim to the largest collection of cliched lyrics out there. There are still a few gems to behold, but they're becoming less and less.

Yes I do. People are easily led. All it takes is for a few to be convinced then its not long before the rest follow. I guess its been that way since the beginning of MTV time!

YES, i agree!
i am getting sick of artists getting popular because of mtv (especially when they have no talent)
but the bands that i like, i would want them to stay less known... because mtv ruins them, and it pisses me off.
i think truly talented musicians might want to stay away from mtv.

well i think that MTV is puttin more of hip hop and rap music than rock, and i think that they should seriously have more rock.
MTV does have a lot of untalented so-called "artists" in their music vids and "making the band" which r vry untalented and just plan sico. i think that they r just copying other music videos and artists because ppl r bored w/ the same old artist....
