Joining Freemasonry can be the most educational and life enriching experience.

The goal of Freemasonry is making GOOD MEN, BETTER MEN. By making you a better person, your relationship to God, family, and fellow humans will become better.

I am not sure about what you mean about changing your family's life. But Freemasonry do try to get the family members involved whenever possible.

You will get as much from masonry as much as you put into it. Don't believe whatever you read good or bad about Freemasonry, you should be able to judge it yourself. Visit a local lodge and feel the "vibes".

I joined the craft after my visit to a lodge. I never met so many wonderful people who are now my brothers and their families in one place at the same time. I felt nothing but positive vibes when I visited.

Apparently that depends on how far into the organization you advance. How far you advance probably depends on your desire, aptitude and value to the organization. The further up the levels or degrees you advance the greater the impact on your life and the life of your family.

I guess you are looking for an answer from a Freemason, but I am not one. I think the organization appears to be good at the entry level at the community level, but as one advances into it, it becomes more and more clear that it is about power. You know the truism that states that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Be ware.
