It's hard to tell. You should always try boots on before you buy them. Just because the boot says "8.0" on them does not mean they will fit like an 8.
Also, if a boot fits perfectly in the store IT IS TOO BIG. A previous poster was very wrong when they said to go up a half size. Your boots will stretch and mold themselves to your feet. I snowboard a lot and always size my boots down a full size. There is no rule but when trying a boot on a good fit is one in which you think "if this boot were just a bit bigger, it would fit perfectly"
Please, do yourself a favor and try on as many pairs of boots as you can before you buy them. Boots are the most important part of the entire package.

Honestly, all bets are off when it comes to boots. Every manufacturer is different as is their cut...and most importantly so is your foot. Your best bet, as suggested above is to go and try on several pairs and see which one fits. Couple suggestions trying on boots:
1. Bring the socks you would were when riding. They add bulk and can through things off if you don't.
2. Keep them on for a good 5+ minutes. Walk around, get a feel for them on. Reasons:
a: bulk. Are they too heavy?
b: blood flows to your feet when you ride, causing your feet to swell thereby changing the size.
3. Different cuts will fit differently.
4. Figure out the lacing system you want to use. There are many options at this point.
Those are just some of the things you might want to look out for. Check the source I listed as it has a more through walk-through.

Look at those other answers. One says bigger, another says smaller..duh ..!!! The most important element in ski/snowboard equipment is proper fitting, comfortable boots. So, do yourself the best favor.... go to a shop where they will give you good personal attention and get fitted. Plan on hanging out for a couple hours there. Walk around in the boots, keep them on your feet for a good while and make sure they feel good. It's worth the effort. Now, you want to buy a board? Read the reviews and buy one new on ebay.

I would try them on. Don't even think about ordering something so important as that over the internet.
The boot (ski or snowboard) is the most important attachment between your body and the snow. You should try on about 10 pairs before you buy.

I'd go a half size bigger - snowboard boots are snug on the toes.
