I'm looking for the opinions of others when it comes to the pro's and con's of Pennsylvania commonwealth.

Be brutally honest.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, and while I'll always consider that city to be home...the rest of the state truly has done nothing for me (I spent a few years in the central PA (Harrisburg) area after college before moving to Houston, TX for a real economy.

I'm looking forboth positive and negative opinions on the commonwealth from those that have either once lived there, and those that currently do.

I was forced to move to PA and now as a young adult I see the downsides of where I am (cant judge for the state). I am in Northeast PA and PennDott SUCKS in the winter and construction takes FOREVER when they start something that can be finished so much sooner.

I grew up north of Pittsburgh in Herman. Population: 300 Relatives of mine: 296

Pro's of PA: now that I'm 56, I'm beginning to appreciate how friendly it is to retirees. Property taxes are low, they don't tax pensions, they have loads of services/freebies for seniors.

Cons: Cold winters. Not a lot of good public transportation outside of a Pittsburgh or Philadelphia.

Well, it's still Pennsylvania... Cold winters, scorching hot and muggy this past summer, "Special Ed" in the Governor's Office (for the moment), but one of the most beautiful places to live, if you stay out of the big cities, as you probably already know.
