Find a voice teacher who wants to help you develop your own voice, not one who will teach you to sing "like" somebody, or has a preconceived idea of what a "jazz" voice should sound like. The important thing about singing is to use your own voice, and interpret songs so that you are really communicating with your audience. So you don't really need a specialist jazz teacher, but one who is willing to wait and see what your voice can do.
