Well that isn't enough info to tell you which card to buy.

You need to know, do you use PCI, AGP, or PCI-E card. If you do not know the best route to go is PCI (though most gammers will complain you loose a bit of graphics, but i am one that runs pci on my cheap pc and runs WoW fine)

Go to the local staples or elsewhere and grab the GeForce 7300 GS PCI version. that will play all the games out right now as long as the other requirments go. The card costs about 100 bucks.

But you can spend hundreds of hundreds of dollars on a video card. If you can get an agp before the pci if your pc works, and there is a 7300 version agp. about 20 bucks less.

g'luck! also, that game is additing thing..just keep an eye on him :P

Most people are swaying toward the newer cards like the 7900 gtx, and I would normally go with newer equipment. It really depend on specs of the pc. If you want to spend 400-500 bucks on a new card, more power to ya. I personally choose the 6600 GT OC from BFG. It's not a brand new card, and it's not old either. It is still the most mod-able video card on the market. I am running two of them in SLI mode (more enhanced graphics). This one won't put a big hole in your pocket. I payed 189.00 a piece about a year ago, so the price has probably dropped some. Try out www.newegg.com - I buy alot of my equipment from them because of the competitive pricing and speedy service.

Id go with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500M graphics controller with 256 MB of discrete video memory. Its not the higest end but will get the job done smoothly because of the built in memory. It is above average though and could cost a little

Assuming your son's computer can support it, the nVidia GeForce 7900 GTX card would definately be the best.
