I've had these before and mine were due to dry skin. I used a mild cream and they improved.

It is causedf by fungus. It tends to occur in the same household, for this reason. It may be that you are, or have been, allergic to something such as laundry detergent, skin creams, shampoo etc. anything that has come into contact with the skin on your upper arm. This allergy may have weakened your skin's immune response. Is this the only place the bumps appear? Not on your hips, upper thighs? places where your clothing rubs gently?

my family was able to vanquish this beast by
1) changing to a mild laundry detergent, with borax
2) using a mild antifungal agent, like micatin
3) using skin cream that is natural - vitamin A & E; cocoa butter; olive oil
It will take a couple of weeks to go away, once your skin is no longer in contact with materials that contain allergens.

The little bumps are caused by ingrown hairs. Many people have this. The best way to treat them is to use a loofah on your arms at least once a week and moisturize every day. A physician can give you a prescription for a very effective lotion to help treat this problem. I don't remember the name.

Instead of varied responses from quacks like us, you would be better off seeking a professional opinion. your condition could be caused by anything from shaving to keratosis pilaris so you should ask a dermatologist in order to make sure if you have anything to worry about or not.
regardless of what has caused it, liberal application of a soothing moisturizer will do no harm. get a lotion with alpha-hydroxy which exfoliates as well as moisturizes. i use one which is 20% AHA since i suffer from keratosis myself. but you can get Eucerin instead, till you see a doc. look for the Eucerin that lists alpha-hydroxy in the ingredients.

if you get a lotion stronger in AHA content than Eucerin, keep your arms covered outdoors since AHA accelerates tanning.

Don't worry, it's a simple problem caused by dry skin and ingrowing hairs. Use a good exfoliator and a good body moisturiser and you should see in an improvement within a few weeks.

I have that too... i went to the dermatologist about it and they said it was ingrown hairs.... there is nothing you can do to prevent them or anything but you can get this sylicid acid cream to put on them that makes them go away... but they will never go away permenantly... you have to keep using the cream... every day twice a day

Use a body scrub daily. It helps. Also, use a really good moisturizer. I usually use one with Vitamin E.
